New packages let bridal parties enjoy beauty of Hudson Highlands for year-round celebrations
GARRISON, NY: (July 15, 2014) – Brides looking to create a winter wonderland wedding in the Hudson Highlands can now celebrate their special day from December to March with the opening of The Garrison for its first full season of weddings.
In response to popular demand, The Garrison is opening for winter weddings and now booking for the upcoming season. In addition, its sister property, Highlands Country Club, has expanded its winter wedding offerings. Both are offering new packages with extra amenities, making the winter months an ideal time to plan a wedding here.
This season’s hottest winter weddings trends of adding greenery and non-floral elements with a hint of sparkle to the decor, serving comfort foods, and providing playful additions, like hot cocoa bars, can be accommodated working with the professional wedding staff at The Garrison and Highlands.
For brides looking to bring the natural elements from the outside in, The Garrison offers a spectacular backdrop with its panoramic views of the Hudson River, rocky cliffs, and mountains from the picturesque Windgate. Across the river, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point offers sunsets, views of Michie Stadium lit at night, and firework displays on special occasions, making it a popular spot for wedding photos.
“The views are amazing each season, but are perhaps the most amazing in the winter, where you can see the rock of the mountain and the wide berth of the river as you look North toward the mountains,” said Todd W. Smith, Banquet Sales Manager at The Garrison. “We want to share all four seasons with our bridal parties, families, and guests.”
The light, airy and serene décor of the River Room, designed by internationally renowned designer Tony Chi, in a palette of cream, mushroom, and sage provides a neutral background for winter wedding décor and lends itself to seasonal centerpieces like branches, wreaths, winter greenery, or pinecones. The Garrison offers hearty seasonal menu options using locally sourced products.
At Highlands, brides are adding seasonal touches such as hot chocolate or cider bars, s’mores roasting in the open fireplace, snowy photos by the rustic barn, and the twinkle of Christmas lights in the decor.
“The Highlands’ fireplaces, cozy tavern, and historic barn all add to the ambiance and appeal for brides getting married during the winter,” said Sarah Menichelli, Event Sales Manager at Highlands Country Club.
The new winter packages for weddings from December 15 through March 1 incorporate reduced per person pricing, as well as numerous added features, including additional food stations, transportation discounts, valet parking, rooms at the Inn at The Garrison, and more, to fit the budget, size, and style of all weddings.
The Garrison is located at 2015 US 9, Garrison, New York. More information is available online at www.TheGarrison.com, or by calling 845-424-3604.
