Overview

Orange County Trust Company and Hudson Valley Investment Advisors.

While these two sister companies have a lot in common, they were also very different in how they approached marketing. When it came to branding, however, they were as cohesive as we could get.

Orange County Bancorp acquired Hudson Valley Investment Advisors (HVIA) shortly after we began working together. We developed their logo and their brand to go hand-in-hand with the bank.

With the development of a modern, cohesive brand and messaging for both companies, along with the implementation of branding standards throughout all advertising and marketing material, BBG&G began transforming the overall perception of the bank within the community and established HVIA as a sister company.

Challenge

When BBG&G began working with Orange County Bancorp in early 2012, there was no consistent branding and their marketing materials lacked the messaging that allows prospects to clearly understand the benefits of banking with this very strong community-minded bank.

We were brought on to work with their in-house team to market all products, with emphasis on their business banking products and their trust and estate services. Shortly after we began working with the bank, Orange County Bancorp acquired Hudson Valley Investment Advisors.

Solution

Develop a cohesive brand for the bank and the investment company. Create an integrated campaign utilizing local print publications, radio, television, and digital advertising targeted the business and consumer markets in Orange and southern Dutchess counties.

Orange County Trust Company’s website needed an update. The design and feel of the site did not convey the forward-thinking bank Orange County Trust was becoming. Additionally, while the site provided good information, it did not do an adequate job of selling — or promoting the bank’s products and services.

As a newly-acquired company with a new brand to establish, HVIA needed a brand new site. We developed a simple but classy site to attract their high-income target market. Messaging was informative, yet conservative.

With 2014 having been the bank’s most profitable year to date, we are all very proud of the accomplishments we made working with their team.
