Why AI Generators Aren’t Enough
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has continued to grow in popularity in the last few months and we are starting to see it become more prominent in the marketing world. Tools like ChatGPT, Canva Magic Write, Jasper AI, etc. are making it easier to create content, form ideas and be more efficient. But, are AI generators alone enough to drive a business’s success? Likely not.
There are still plenty of issues with AI generators and human behaviors that AI may not be able to imitate. For example, robots can not learn emotions. Humans learn emotions from a young age and these are crucial to connecting with your audience. AI may not be able to replicate the emotions you are trying to portray in your marketing work so you will need to add that touch on your own.
Other behaviors that AI may not be able to replicate are ethics and morality. Most AI generators learn based on what they find through data and algorithms and may not pick up on the subtle nuances that need to be portrayed. Marketing experience and human insight are needed to build on raw AI content.
Another issue AI generators are having, and most platforms are open about, is that the data or content provided is not always 100% factual or up-to-date. AI is taking the data that it finds and responding to your request with that content which may be outdated. For example, when searching “most popular social media platforms” on ChatGPT, they give you notice that the most updated information they have is from 2021. That is why it is important to know your industry, review what AI may return, and build on and adjust where the tool may be failing.
Artificial Intelligence tools were created to be just that, tools. They can be used to help you with initial ideas and outlines. Carefully weigh the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI generators and consider the specific needs and goals of your organization before relying solely on them. With proper planning and implementation, AI can be a powerful tool for businesses to improve their operations and stay competitive in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace.
