Year of Celebrity Influencers for The Big Game
By Bethany, Social Media Strategist | February 4, 2019
This year’s game definitely was not an exciting one, the halftime show was not over-the-top as it’s been in the past, and it seems the climate of the ads were not as exciting either, according to Twitter.
However, celebrity influencers played a large role in advertising this year. Most commercials for popular name brands such as Pepsi, Stella Artois, Doritos, Hyundai, M & M’s- even- Amazon contained commercials with one or more celebrities endorsing the products.
It’s no doubt that 2019 is the “Year of the Influencer” for social marketing. Influencer marketing is playing a large role in advertising in digital landscapes. And it’s only growing further!
Influencers aren’t really a “new” marketing tactic, though the form of influencers certainly has changed. But, when most of America is tuned in to one of the most popular television events of the year, you can see that old tactics of using celebrities to endorse products is still very popular.
It can definitely be hard to get a celebrity to endorse your product, especially if you’re a small business. But, there are plenty of local influencers that can help expose your product/service to a wider audience, for a smaller rate.
Take it to Instagram to find local influencers that work in your market. For now, we’ll leave the celebrity endorsements to the big players.
Check out my top 5 celebrity influencer ads from this year:
- Pepsi, “More than OK”
- StellaArtois, “Change Up the Usual”
- Bubly, “Michael Bublé vs bubly”
