Adidas collaborated with Game of Thrones to give their best-selling Ultraboost sneaker a bit of Westeros flavor. They updated the Ultraboost to represent some of the most popular houses and characters from the show. Each pair has a “GoT” symbol on the tongue and accompanying motto on the heel tag. For example, the House Targaryen shoe has a black and red design that resembles the house crest. Also, the White Walker sneaker is stark white, black, and icy blue – which accurately represents the White Walkers from the show.

Lesson Learned –You’re never too big to collaborate

According to Statista, season seven regularly drew in more
than 10 million viewers. It’s clear that HBO doesn’t need help building awareness, yet it decided to collaborate with major brands. Why? Because collaboration is a great tool for any size brand, company or organization. With collaboration comes expanded reach. HBO strategically collaborated with brands from several different industries – apparel, beauty, spirits, etc. This has allowed them to reach potential viewers from several different markets.
