How to Optimize for Social Media Search
What is Social Media Search and why is it important? According to an Internal study by Google, 40% of 18 to 24-year-olds are now using social media as their primary search engine. More people are posting their experiences, reviews, and opinions on social media allowing others to make purchasing decisions based on real people. Here are some ways your business can optimize for popularity in social search:
Work with Micro-Influeners. Micro-influencers are the most trusted content creators. Working with them will allow you to reach a broader audience and reach an audience that may already be interested in what you are offering.
Be Transparent. Be honest with your audience. This will help maintain/improve your credibility. Without that credibility, people will be less confident in their purchasing decisions. The general public will be reviewing or sharing your products and without worrying about being paid for an ad they will be more willing to be brutally honest. If you have created that credibility, your audience will continue to support you.
Communicate Constantly. Having open communication with your audience proves your reliability. Don’t just try to sell something. Try to understand any problems they may have, and what feelings they may have about purchasing an item and offer a solution. If someone posts a negative review, offer alternatives, explain why it may have not worked for them, or create a solution.
With more and more people heading to social media platforms, it is important for businesses to learn how to communicate with their audience, maintain great relationships and reach new audiences.
