Challenge

Throughout 2022 and 2023, short-form video reigned supreme. Despite the surging popularity of TikTok, Instagram maintained its position as the platform with the highest monthly user count, as reported by Buffer. Instagram has been actively adapting its algorithm in recent years to stay at the forefront of the social media landscape. This has meant that BBG&G and our clients have to be willing to play in this space.

Without the budgets for reel creation or reel strategy, BBG&G had to educate their clients on the importance of including the reels in their social media strategy and the continuously changing Instagram algorithms.

Solution

At the beginning of 2022, BBG&G started to incorporate Reels in social media strategy for clients and incorporated the results of our efforts from when we started to create reels for our own accounts. We started to research trending topics, sounds and started to include reels in our monthly content calendar.

Using a combination of User-Generated Content (UGC) and content we captured, we created relatable, trending and educational videos. Reels became part of the monthly content strategy and clients started to see improved results.

Results

When we compared the monthly and yearly analytics from when we started creating reels versus when we didn't share reels we saw great improvement. We were also able to show our clients how video overall compares to static images. Overall, we saw an increase in reach, engagement and page growth.

Here are some successes our clients saw after posting reels:
